The Barrow Hills Community Committee (BHCC) is made up of parents, staff, including the Headmaster, the Deputy Head-Pastoral and children, supported by our volunteer parent class representatives from each of the year groups.
The existence of this committee is testimony to the strength of our parent community, our enthusiasm and enjoyment of being part of that community and our commitment to raising funds for the benefit of our children and others.
The committee has established a vibrant programme of events throughout the year that raise money for our school projects both big and small and support the charitable work we feel our children must undertake to develop as rounded individuals.
The BHCC raises funds through student annual subscriptions and events such as the Hog Roast, Quiz Night, Bonfire Night, Proms in the Park and a legendary end-of-year summer party for the parents. The charity fundraising focuses on ‘knowing our neighbour’ with our main beneficiary being St Benoît School in Burkina Faso, West Africa - please see HERE for our history with this school. A number of other charities also benefit, for example MacMillan Cancer Support and the Poppy Appeal.
The committee supports the school to fund new facilities that may fall outside the existing future development plans of the school itself. Recent acquisitions include new play equipment for Pre-Prep, equipment for the science block and a contribution to the new wifi, to name but a few.
We hope you will join us by volunteering time, ideas and services and support the work our committee undertakes. Parents’ views and fund-raising ideas are always welcome as is any help with events.
Please do contact any of the committee members or representatives if you would like to get involved on firstname.lastname@example.org
The BHCC welcomes you to the school.
