The Real-Food Approach
From a small child, I have always had a passion and love for 'real food'. My parents are truly gifted in the creation of delicious meals. I learnt from them and used to arrive home from primary school, search the cupboards and recipe books and then create supper or cake! I always knew I was going to have a career of high drama, teamwork and immovable deadlines, and would deliver quality, tasty, varied, real food.
At the heart of school we break bread together: breakfast club, snack break and plentiful homemade lunch choices. We eat together at times of reflection like CAFOD Family Fast Day and Burkina Faso Day. We come together at times of celebration like match teas, Christmas lunch, Year 8 Common Entrance results and our Jubilee street party for our 60th year. We eat together to savour our beautiful surroundings with impromptu barbecues.
A choice of at least two hot and cold options is available to children at lunch time, together with a varied and well-stocked salad bar. A choice of fruit is also available at both snacktime and lunch.
We have even turned the fussiest of children into hearty eaters and accommodate all dietary needs and food allergies.
Pupils are encouraged to develop healthy eating habits. The meals are nutritious and locally sourced where possible. Individual dietary needs are provided for well.
