Harvest Festival

Children from Barrow Hills School in Witley celebrated their annual Harvest Festival on Friday 16th November with a special assembly in the school chapel. Pupils brought in a variety of gifts including fresh and non-perishable food items, which were then packed into individual parcels to be distributed to members of the local community.

Following the assembly, the Year 3 children went to Dower House in Milford, where they sang All Things Bright and Beautiful and a selection of their class songs to entertain the residents. After the singing, the children enjoyed chatting to the residents and giving out their gifts.

In addition to providing food parcels for Dower House, the children also collected food items for the North Guildford Food Bank and the Salvation Army in Guildford.

"The School enjoyed giving thanks for the annual harvest and our children loved having the opportunity to go out and meet our elderly neighbours. Charitable work is part of the school ethos so we were delighted to be able to help in this way and to support the valuable work of the North Guildford Food Bank and the Salvation Army in Guildford."
