Year 7

Pupils may join the Upper Prep Department in Year 7 to follow the common Entrance 13+ syllabus for entry to senior schools such as Charterhouse, Wellington, Cranleigh, Worth, or Tormead in Year 9.  Currently about 20% of the intake in Year 7 join us from other schools.

Academically, pupils in the Upper Prep Department work well and we are proud to report that our students have all achieved 100% success in Common Entrance at 13+.  In addition, last year, two pupils won major academic scholarships to their senior school and we also had pupils awarded scholarships in Sport, Music and Drama to their senior schools.  Last year over 35% of our pupils won scholarships to their senior school.

Our pupils  have the opportunity to undertake a foreign sports tour and will join their Form on residential activity weeks in France in June of Year 7 and Year 8.  Sport is very important and most children represent their school each week in sports matches which include rugby, hockey, football, netball, rounders and cricket during the different seasons. Our choir have away fixtures at least once a term and all children get the opportunity to study the Expressive Arts GCSE syllabus. All pupils take part in a major year group production each year.
