Old Barrow Hillians

The Old Barrow Hillians Association was founded in 2008 and celebrated with a reunion at the school on Sunday, 8 June 2008.  It was attended by over 200 former pupils and staff who thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to meet old friends and to reminisce.

We celebrated the school's Diamond Jubilee on Sunday, 12 June 2011 and once again attracted over 200 to Mass, followed by group photographs and lunch.  Mass was celebrated by Fr Martin Ashcroft, a Josephite, who was at Barrow Hills from 1957 to 1963.  It was concelebrated Fr John Flynn, who was at Barrow Hills from 1983 to 1989, and Head of the School in his final year.

The Old Barrow Hillians who attended had representatives from the very earliest intake at Great Roke in September 1952 to those who left last summer.  The weather did not allow any outdoor activities on this occasion but we were able to cope indoors and it was truly wonderful to sense the enormous pleasure that such a reunion brings.
