Pre-Prep FoundationPre-Prep Foundation Stage: Kindergarten and Reception In Pre-Prep we want every child to enjoy being at school and to love the life-long process of learning. We make this process as much fun as possible whilst ensuring the children are positively challenged to make impressive individual progress. We use the Early Years Framework as the basis for our teaching and learning in the Foundation Stage. This includes the important goal of laying sound academic foundations in English and Maths, using modern teaching systems such as Read Write Inc. and Making Maths Make Sense. At this age it is also important that your child experiences being a success in the school community and appreciates the need for sharing, taking turns, leading and following. In short, they begin to acquire the values that will make them successful in working with others and throughout the rest of their lives. We are ambitious for every child's progress and work hard to ensure that their first steps of learning are confident and exciting. The combination of small class sizes led by teachers and qualified teaching assistants and specialist teaching in French, Music and Sport allows your child to receive individual attention. This specialist teaching also ensures that children have the opportunity to learn from both male and female members of staff. Sue Pulleyn, Head of Pre Prep |
