School badge and motto

The school motto is 'Ad Majora Paramur' - 'We are being prepared for greater things'.

The school's Coat of Arms was designed by Father Anselm Fawcett.

The shield is barred and dovetailed and shows the St George's flag, a cedar pine tree and three hillocks. The tree represents the favourite spot for Cowboys & Indians, played by the boys at Longcross.  The three hillocks represent the three barrows or Saxon burial sites, also found at Longcross.

The motto was a 'happy thought' of Fr Erconwald Probst, the first Headmaster of Barrow Hills.
