The purpose of Religious Education at Barrow Hills is the expression and exploration of the Christian vision of the human person.  This underlies the school's Catholic ethos which seeks to educate the whole child.

The beliefs and values studied in Catholic religious education inspire and draw together every aspect of the life of a Catholic school and allow children to engage with the most profound questions of creation.  It is important that Religious Education is given its proper place as a core subject in a Catholic school.

From Reception to Year 8, Barrow Hills children follow the scheme of work 'The Way, The Truth, The Life'.  In Year 8, pupils sit the Common Entrance RE examination which is based on the Roman Catholic Syllabus B.

As the children progress through the school they are given more time to discuss and record their feelings in all aspects of their school and family life. Children are taught to understand how God expects us, as Christians, to lead our lives.  In this way they begin to develop the appropriate skills and attitudes to help them live as Christians in the wider world.
